It's a cliche but Mallorca / Majorca really does have something for everyone. From Palma city in the South, rugged coastlines and villages in the West, family friendly resorts and beaches in the North and rural hotels and agrotourism hotels in the Mallorcan countryside. The boutique and luxury traveller to Majorca is well catered for and those appreciating the finer things in life will fins some unique, boutique and luxury hotels. One such example is La Residencia in Deia (Deya), once owned by Richard Branson, created from 2 manor houses which date back to 16th & 17th Century. This truly luxury hotel is now owned by Orient Express – perfect for that romantic break or honeymoon.

Deia is in the North West of the Island, the Tramuntana mountains maintains a bit of a microclimate, but most importantly protect the you from the stereotypical Mallorca visitor ! The beaches here aren’t the best on the island, which probably explains how it has become so protected, with a rugged coastline, but great beaches in Mallorca are never that far with a rental car. Palma, the capital, is definitely worth a visit. Similar to Barcelona the city is alive with shops, restaurants, bars and on a summers evening has an excellent ambience.
